About justchathere

justchathere is a throwback to the golden age of internet chatrooms — the Yahoo chat era, when you picked a nickname, wandered into a room, and just started talking to strangers about music, movies, or nothing at all.

There are no accounts, no feeds, no algorithms. You choose a nickname, pick one of our rooms, and chat in real time with whoever else is hanging around.

How it works

• Ephemeral by design. Each room keeps only the most recent 200 messages, and when the last person leaves a room, its history is wiped clean. Nothing is archived, nothing follows you.
• No sign-up. Your nickname exists only while you're connected.
• Ad-free. No ads, no pop-ups, no tracking you around the web. The site is supported by visitors who chip in for hosting — entirely voluntary.

Pull up a chair and start talking.
